Samantha met Marquee Cincotta when Sam was just gaining momentum with the eventing world in Washington. Having just relocated to the Sarasota area with her family, Marquee Cincotta (MC) Show Stables held the reputation of a world class South Florida high jumping training facility for both riders and horses. Within weeks of relocation, Marquee agreed to take Sammie on as student. Lots of lessons a week, the focuses were perfecting of form, distances, lead changes, and course memorization. It was a lot to learn! Within several months, Marquee molded Sammie into a courageous high jumper that was worth of her high jumping team.
Sammie traveled with Marquee's show team around Florida, and then onto Tryon Equestrian Center in North Carolina. While getting first and second places were gratifying, the lessons Sam learned were the real reward. Marquee is an amazing Grand Prix rider with an amazing history with horses. She showed Samantha and the other girls on the show team what showing around the U.S competitively really meant. Marquee built Sam's confidence and the ability to see a stride a mile away.
